Emotions and Decisions: Not Entirely A Good Combination!

Attending Bro. Bo's The Feast in PICC has always been fun and enlightening. Imagine attending a mass in an air conditioned convention center with a lot of people smiling and singing praises for the Lord. But the most exciting part are the topics discussed during the worship! This month was about emotions and luckily today I was able to attend the talk about Emotions and Decisions.

In the talk, I realized that many, if not most, of my decisions were made out of emotions. And there are a few that I regret of doing and saying. I regret those because I let emotions influence my decisions. Bro. Bo said that when faced with such a situation and I'm feeling a lot of emotions, i just need to step back and separate myself for a few minutes, hours or even days to let the emotion subside. And during that gap, he instructed to do the following:

1. See yourself from a 3rd person point of view just like watching a black and white TV and your situation is the story. This will let you see yourself in the bigger picture, how you got there and what is happening around.
2. Fast forward the scenes a little. See yourself in the situation after letting your emotion decide for you. See the implications of your decisions.
3. Now, turn around and see a big HD TV. Turn it on and watch an alternative scenario where you let Jesus guide you in making your decision. See all the beautiful things in store for you when you let Him guide you and lead you to the correct decision!

Regret is not fun to feel. And sometimes it lingers longer than your fondest memory. So before saying or doing something you may regret in the end, remember that not to let temporary emotions affect long term decisions. So, just step back and let Jesus show you the way.

Lets love life and Live it for the Glory of God.

Its time to take Action!

Hey this is my first blog! I'm pretty much excited as to what Blogs that I will be posting here. It has been one of my plans to start blogging so i can document my thoughts and experiences. I believe that we must always get in touch with other peoples thoughts and experiences so that we learn faster. Sometimes mistakes are costly and other peoples experiences are there to help us get through. And now is the time for me to put my plans into action.

It's already 11:38pm, and a lot of thoughts are bombarding my head. But majority of my thoughts are more on Taking action. so Im doing this now! i remember reading this quote recently, "More powerful than the Will to Win is the Courage to Begin." This reminded me of the number of dreams that I want to achieve, from small to Big, that i got stuck much in the Planning stage. I kept on analyzing the details and the possible Results that I was already spending too much time where that could've have been more productive when it was put in to action. I guess i was afraid of failure. But hey, nobody gets it the first time. Being afraid of failure wont make me a winner. Winners win because they know how to deal from failure. They know that with every failure has a lesson to learn on how to do it well. Thomas edison failed 10,000 times before he created bulb. and he wouldnt have done that feat if he didn't start in the first place.

So here is my first Blog, thanks for taking time to read it. Feel free to comment your thoughts on how i can improve!
